Member Agencies The Huntington Area Food Bank's member agencies include food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, senior centers, youth programs, and many other charitable organizations. Member agencies must be private, nonprofit, and have an IRS 501 (c) (3) tax exemption status. The agencies may not affiliate with other food banks to create a duplication of service. Agencies must be willing to cooperate with other service providers in their respective areas and may not discriminate among clients on any basis other than financial need. All agency guidelines are listed in Agency Handbook. More than one agency may be located in the same area; however they are not permitted to serve the same clients. The HAFB member agencies are monitored every two years and must provide the names and addresses of clients so they can be checked for duplication. The agencies are run by churches, social service groups, and other non-profit centers. The days and hours of operation are solely decided by that agency. For more information on the location of food pantries and other member agencies or opening a food pantry or on-site feeding center, call 304-523-6029. |
